ReadyMade, How to Make (Almost) Everything: A Do-It-Yourself Primer

by Mark Frauenfelder

As seen in MAKE 05 Toolbox

This whimsical instructional guide from the folks at ReadyMade magazine (a sort of sister publication to Make) shows you how to make useful objects from things formerly destined for the dustbin: a ceiling fan constructed from an old bike wheel and a plastic bowl, a wine rack rigged from coat hangars, a dog bed fashioned from an old pair of blue jeans, a rug assembled from shopping bags, a picture frame made out of a hardback book. Half the joy of this book came from seeing how the authors breathed new life into unwanted junk. The other half came from the way it inspired me to start thinking of novel uses for the neglected stuff in my own garage.
