Maker Faire

Cornell Lab of Ornithology

Type: Maker Table/Exhibit
Program Area: Citizen Science

This event is related to Earth Day!

Day/Time: Saturday and Sunday

Location: To be determined

From backyards and city streets to remote forests, anyone who counts birds can contribute to the Lab's research. Data from a variety of citizen science projects from the lab are used to monitor bird populations and outline conservation efforts. Stop by and see what our nest box cameras are showing us, and learn about projects you can participate in:

  • The Birdhouse Network

  • eBird

  • Project FeederWatch

  • Great Backyard Bird Count

  • Classroom FeederWatch

  • Urban Bird Studies

  • Birds in Forested Landscapes

Be sure to see the special workshop on Sunday to build your own Western Bluebird House and participate in a bluebird monitoring project!

NOTE: Staff from Cornell will be on site on Sunday only. The display and information materials will be available both days.
