Wireless Swimming Pool Fill System

Type: Maker Table/Exhibit
Program Area: Electronics

Day/Time: Saturday, April 22

Location: To be determined

This system monitors the water level of a swimming pool and when action is required, sends information so that a fill valve will open. Then it detects when the pool is full, causing the valve to close. The system also can be expanded to include automatic empty (perhaps due to heavy rain). The sensor is non-contact capacitive, combined with very low power techniques for long battery life. Installation is easy. If a person can hook up a sprinkler timer, they can up hook this gadget.
