SparkLab: DIY Wearables
Day/Time: Saturday and Sunday
Location: Fiesta HallSparkLab is a body of DIY projects that investigate between culture, technology and craft. It encourages a new methodology for assembling electronic circuitry which merges sewing techniques with electronics. Wires are substituted for conductive thread, snaps for solder joints and connection points, and everyday silk organza is used as the conductive medium.
The DIY projects range from wearables that use light and thermochromatic inks to reveal and conceal imagery to interactive electronic projects for the home that do not even require the use for a soldering iron.
All projects are interactive and serve as vehicles for communication and self-expression.
Syuzi will also be holding a Wearable Light Workshop in this location.
